Who We Are

Investors seem to be faced more and more with increased uncertainty, volatile markets, investment scandals, self-serving politicians, and potentially higher taxes. We believe the place to start is with an advisor who puts your best interests first and will help you develop a solid plan based on a time-tested investment strategy.

To give you a little perspective, I started working as a traditional broker in 1981, hoping to help folks become financially independent. However after more than ten years working in a commission-dominated industry, I grew frustrated and disillusioned to see the industry routinely creating products that made Wall Street rich but left Main Street in the cold. I often found myself working in an environment that promoted products that were in the company’s best interest — not the clients’.

Finding myself at this crossroads, I was determined to establish an investment firm where clients came first.

In 1996, I had the good fortune of meeting Steve Lewis. Starting with this common goal of putting clients’ interests first, we established Curran & Lewis Investment Management, Inc. Since those humble beginnings, we have successfully grown into a nationally ranked firm, as recognized by Wealth Manager Magazine.

We understand that as an investor you are faced with a multitude of choices when it comes to selecting a financial advisor. Certainly all of the major brokerage firms, banks, and insurance companies have an army of people ready to “help.” But oftentimes this help comes with hidden conflicts of interest. Most financial advisors are not legally required to act as a fiduciary, and thus are not legally required to put your interest first. Instead, many are influenced by commissions or other forms of vendor-paid compensation. Here is where you need to ask yourself: Who are they really working for?

At Curran & Lewis, there is no hidden agenda (costs and fees are fully disclosed in our ADV), and there are no third-party influences to color our financial and investment recommendations. We do not represent any product or any company; we represent only the client. This allows us to concentrate on providing the highest level of personalized service and to offer professional, independent, unbiased advice. Our compensation comes only from the fees paid by our clients and we do not receive any commissions or incentives from outside parties, thereby removing potential conflicts of interest. When our clients do well, so do we.

Our greatest joy comes from seeing clients achieve their financial goals. Our services and investment philosophy are all designed to give clients the greatest chance to achieve their objectives.
